Rome is a whirlwind of good food, mind-blowing experiences and highly instagrammable sights. With so much to choose from here is my list of top spots for gramming-like-a-pro.
Probably the most obvious spot for your adventure but no visit to Rome would be complete without a mouth-open-in-agog moment of seeing the Colosseum for the first time. Seeing this mammoth building in person is all the more surreal when you think about how long it has been where it stands now and the thrilling history of everything that went on there. That said, there is no better spot than rubbing your friends’ noses in the fact that you are here than standing in front of this bad boy with the smuggest look on your face as you sample some gelato for an au-natural pose.
The Trevi Fountain
Aim your shot and timing well and you could be in for one of the loveliest shots of your trip. One of the most romantic spots (when the crowds have died down) be sure to throw a penny over your shoulder for luck and a return trip to this beautiful city.
Walk in the footsteps of Roman emperors and a whole string of famous Romans before you and gaze in wonder as the majestic pillars frame some of Rome’s most astonishing sights, time your adventure right and you can get some impressive sunset shots of the intriguing temples before the grounds close for the evening.
The Balcony Cafe at the Castello Saint Angelo
Included in your Roma Pass, this one is often overlooked by those doing a whistle-stop tour of Rome but should not be forgotten. Bask on a beautiful Roman balcony, coffee (or tea) in hand as you watch the sun set over the ethereal Vatican City, heavenly.
ANYWHERE With Gelato
Because quite frankly who doesn’t want a shot devouring one of these scrumptious wonders. On display in a colour wheel of flavours, gelato tastes even better than it looks so, when in Rome…
